Healthcare

Clean Environment is also similar important for healthcare industry where diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illness, injury or any physical and mental impairment in human beings are practiced.

HVAC System plays a very important part in maintaining the integrity of such areas where medicines are practiced regularly.

CLEMENT ENGINEERS take care during designing and installation of HVAC system in such application to minimize the introduction, generation and retention of contamination and infections and to control the relevant parameters, e.g. temperature, humidity and pressure are controlled as advised in National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare (NABH).

We evolve all appropriate methodologies, systems and procedures related to HVAC system to honor the requirements as per above guideline.

BASIC HEALTHCARE HVAC DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

  • Prevention of ingress of external contaminant particles.
  • Dilution & scavenging of contaminant particles generated by Patients, in-house, outpatients, Medical Personnel, Foods & drinks.
  • Prevent area to area cross-contamination.
  • Ensuring comfort for Patient and Medical Personnel.
  • Ensuring stable operating environment for Medical Equipment.
  • Ensuring sufficient Fresh Air inside the Critical areas.
  • Filtration of infected Air before discharge to atmosphere.

STRATEGIES FOR SYSTEM DESIGN FOR OPERATION THEATRE

OPERATION THEATRE is the facility in a Hospital where surgical procedures are carried out in sterile environment. The Patient is the weakest individual in the facility.

The Challenge in designing HVAC System in an Operating Theatre is to maintain sterility and to protect the Patient from infection and to have flexibility to achieve Room Temperature suitable for the patient at any instant.

Some strategies to be taken care by us has been furnished hereunder –

  • Infection control by ensuring minimum contamination, transportation of contaminants and arrest contaminants using filter bank.
  • Remove the particles from the air stream by filtration through series of Filters including High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filters.
  • Planning for proper air flow pattern ensuring cleanest air on patient and air flow direction away from patient.
  • High ACPH for ensuring dilution of Contaminants.
  • Picking up Return air from the bottom of the room corner.
  • To use suitable Electronic Control to achieve variable Temperature & RH as desired while in operation.
  • Ensuring Noise level at a level suitable for concentration of Medical staff.
